GAME ONE / CUT

A work-in-progress multimedia dance piece for the opening two chapters in gushes’ song cycle "Delicious Collision," a Filipinx Futurist mythology. The piece begins in a sea cave drone melting into abstractions of pan-Asian fisherfolk culture. The movement touches erosion, free diving, ballroom vogue, drag, hip hop, pro wrestling, Wushu, and Kali FMA, conjuring portals from the convergence of elemental, ancestral, queer, erotic, and warrior spirits. Set elements include an immersed audience, portable lights, manipulated canvas, flowers, prepared electric guitar, and an interactive sound sculpture.
